Eastern Province: Today the men of the Eastern Province continue to minister in the pioneering spirit of Holy Cross.

Our presence in the east dates to 1930s, when a plan was drawn up to extend Holy Cross ministry to the East Coast of the United States. At that time, there was one U.S. province centered at the University of Notre Dame. The congregation purchased property in North Dartmouth and North Easton, Massachusetts, and later, in 1946, we opened King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In 1948 we founded another college, Stonehill College in North Easton, and the Eastern Province was formally founded.

Education
The Eastern Province sponsors King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. Our members also work inother higher, secondary, and primary educational institutions in the United States, including the University of Notre Dame, and St. Edwards’s University, as well as in Peru.

Parish Ministry
We staff parishes throughout the eastern United States. We’re at:
• Holy Cross Parish in South Easton, Massachusetts
• Most Holy Trinity Parish in Saco, Maine
• Sacred Heart/Saint Francis de Sales Parish in Bennington, Vermont
• St. Mary's Parish in Taunton, Massachusetts
• St. John the Evangelist Parish in Viera, Florida
• St. Casimir's Parish in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

We also minister in diocesan parishes in Florida, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania and maintain a commitment to the growing Spanish-speaking population in the Church in the United States.

Service Overseas
The Eastern Province sponsors the District of Peru where a number of our members minister. We also staff a parish and a school in Canto Grande, the Institute for Family Spirituality, which is the Latin American headquarters for Family Rosary International, and we also operate Yancana Huasy School for the disabled in Lima. We are pastoral ministers in Tacna.

Retreat Ministry
The Eastern Province sponsors Holy Cross Retreat House, on the grounds of Stonehill College, which provides a variety of services and retreat programs, including Cursillos, to the people of Southeastern Massachusetts.

We’re also spiritual directors for other retreat and spiritual life centers and for parishioners, students and young men in formation.

Hospital, Health Care and Prison Ministry
Our members are hospital and prison chaplains, as well as social workers in hospitals and nursing homes in the eastern United States.

Campus Ministry
We’re campus ministers at some of our Holy Cross sponsored schools - King's College, Stonehill College, University of Notre Dame and St. Edward's University - as well as at Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

Holy Cross Family Ministries
Holy Cross Family Ministries, headquartered in North Easton, Massachusetts, seeks to strengthen family life, spirituality, and prayer by continuing the work of Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C. He is well-known for the motto, "The Family That Prays Together Stays Together."

Family Rosary and Family Rosary International continue Father Peyton's family-centered prayer ministry, while Family Theater Productions, including a studio in Hollywood, CA, continuesHoly Cross' pioneering work in Christian radio, television and movie production.

The Fr. Patrick Peyton, C.S.C. Family Institute in North Easton serves as a resource to dioceses, parishes, schools and other institutions in New England and on the east coast. The Fr. Patrick Peyton, CSC, Memorial Centre in County Mayo, Ireland, offers retreats and pilgrimages, spiritual direction and spiritual counseling for those of Father Peyton's homeland, while the Pastoral Institute for the Family in Lima, Peru, provides services for individuals and families in Peru.
